In our most recent OfSTED 2018 Inspection it is reported that, “The early years environment is stimulating and engaging, both outside and indoors. Children get off to a good start in the early years.”
Willow Class is the home to our Nursery pupils. By setting the Nursery in the main school we aim to make staff and children feel truly welcome and part of our whole school family. This also enables a free flow into Chestnut class for child-initiated time. Mixing with the other children enables new friendships to be formed as well as an opportunity for our Nursery children to learn from older peers.
Our Nursery children are able to access our Prayer room, Outdoor play equipment and best of all, our forest.
Mrs Tomlinson currently leads the Nursery provision in consultation with Mrs Rawsthorne. Mrs Tomlinson is enthusiastic and keen to offer the best learning opportuities to our children. She is creative and passionate about both the outdoors and keeping active.
Our children participate in a wide variety of activities which are linked to the Key Areas for Learning from the EYFS curriculum. The children are also able to enjoy visits and join in with all relevant whole school events such as Sports Day, Carols Around the Campfire and topic theme days.
