Journey Days

Easter Day 21.3.23

On Tuesday, the whole school were lucky enough to take part in a forest school Easter Day supported by Andy. Chestnut Class and Nursery had an amazing morning in the forest taking part in different activities including creating wooden holding crosses, ordering the Easter Story, creating naturally decorated Eater eggs, enjoying a hot cross bun while learning about the story behind it and organising a parade through the forest (including musical instruments for the donkey sounds!).

Oak Class also spent the afternoon in the forest completing similar activities. One group were challenged with erecting a life sized cross, where they had to use drills and spanners to tighten bolts and screws. They then set about decorating the cross to represent the different events from Holy Week. With Andy, the children created their own holding crosses using rubber wood and sanding tools. They also created scenes of the tomb using wood and sanding tools.

Every child will be taking their crosses and scenes to the church next Monday to be part of Easter Service and Andy has kindly agreed to join us for the service which will be wonderful.
