Headteacher's Welcome

 'Believing we can achieve'

"Pupils are polite and respectful; they take great pride in their school. Pupils behave well in lessons and when moving around school. They show great care for one another." OFSTED 2018

A warm welcome from all of us at Adderley CE Primary School.

I am proud to be the headteacher at Adderley CE Primary School. I welcome this opportunity to introduce you to our school.

We recognise that being entrusted with the education of your child is an enormous privilege and responsibility, which is never taken for granted. We thank parents for their trust in us and their partnership with us.

Our school is a lively and caring community, built on warm relationships. Our success lies in our dedication to providing an exciting and engaging curriculum and in really knowing every learner, building relationships that enable children to take risks and do their best in a safe and happy environment. We pride ouselves on being a caring and nurturing school team. In our most recent OFSTED 2018, they state, "Relationships with staff are positive and warm."

We are proud to be a small, rural Church of England school located in the pretty village of Adderley, a five minute drive from Market Drayton town. As a Christian school everything we do is driven by our eleven values: respect, thankfulness, courage, kindness, perseverance, friendship, forgiveness, patience, responsibility, truthfulness, trust. We take pride in these values being reflected in the way the children learn and play at our school. In September 2018 we received an Ofsted visit; they recognised the caring and nurturing environment we provide to ensure good outcomes for children's well-being and academic achievement. "Pupils’ individual talents and interests are shared and celebrated throughout the school. This is a nurturing school community where pupils support and care for each other." OfSTED 2018

Our teachers are talented and creative and skilled in bringing out the best in every individual. Our curriculum is designed to ensure all children flourish. We are lucky that we have wonderful grounds, with a forest on site, making our school unique in the local area. Our outdoor spaces allow us an extra dimension to bringing our vibrant curriculum alive. "The good-quality curriculum makes a significant contribution to pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare." OfSTED 2018

We lead by example, striving for excellence and encouraging our pupils to do the same. Primary school is where children begin to discover who they are, what they like doing and what path they might take in the future. We believe in the power of ‘YET’, encouraging children to persevere until they achieve their goal.

Being a small school enables us to nurture each child as an individual. We want to support children in becoming independent, confident, committed and responsible members of the school and wider global community. Our school curriculum includes ‘Our Place in the World’ where we encourage children to think about the wider world through news article, environmental education and through discussion forums.

We celebrate our Christian Values each month building an ethical vocabulary and a skill set to help us make the best of all opportunities in life by learning how to be the best we can be - to be a good citizen. Respect is one of our core values; this includes respect for our world and for each other. We treat children with respect and expect them to treat us and each other in the same way. We expect high standards of behaviour and this means pupils enjoy being at school and behave well.

The School has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with parents/carers and the local community. We are fortunate to be supported by a large and well-informed governing board and our PTA is active throughout the year, raising valuable funds for the School.

We can't wait to meet you. Please call our administrative team to book an appointment for a visit to our school.

Kindest regards

Mrs Adele Thain Acting Executive Head Teacher on behalf of the Adderley CE Primary School Community
